Make the most of figs whilst they are beautifully juicy and in season. There are lots of lovely recipes on the interest to inspire you, I’ve made a tasty dish of figs halved and cooked for 10 mins in the oven and served warm with Camembert cheese, honey, fresh thyme and walnuts. Y.U.M!
Yesterday was National Sponge Cake day (in US) and rather fittingly I had to bake this mini Bundt cake for a prop for one of my shots for the book I’m currently working on, cute huh?!
Just realised I haven’t posted in over a week…sorry! Last week was crazy busy, as is this week.
So one of my jobs last week was shooting the new Chiquito’s menu. We shot it in one of their restaurants, whilst diners sat around us having their breakfast, lunch and dinners! Chef cooked it fresh as it would be served in the restaurant and David the food stylist gave each dish a few tweaks here and there just to make sure it looked perfect yet remaining authentic. Lovely job, wonder colours and textures.
Here’s a couple of their dishes – Tacos and Enchiladas, and a phone snap of the restaurant.
It’s gone all cold and rainy here, where has summer gone?! There’s only one thing to do to make a grey day like today cheerful… have some bright green, cosy, warm pea soup 😀
Last week I had the privilege of working with and shooting the talented Michelin starred Tanner Brothers. I shot the plated food and behind the scenes in the kitchen, as well as people enjoying the food.
This was one of my favourite shots from the shoot… I love the steam, the rustic setting and the drama of the shot.
Today in National Watermelon Day in the US but it looks like we too have adopted it here in the UK. Watermelons are available in all the supermarkets at the moment and only £2 for a whole one, they are tasting super sweet right now so are delicious just chopped up and eaten as they are, but it you get a little bored of they try this little recipe…. Feta cheese, balsamic glaze and fresh mint…YUM!
Whether you are the type of person who likes to make your own or if it’s your go to favourite in a restaurant, or if you like a shop bought one like this one (I shot this for the Co-op packaging) today is the day to indulge… it’s National Lasagna Day!
On this day in 1904 the ice cream cone was introduced! Fact!
I shot this less than a week ago, although judging by todays weather you would not think so!!
Watermelon juice is so simple to make – put chopped watermelon pieces in blender, blend until smooth, serve over ice! Enjoy in the sun!
Yay… it’s National Cherry Day 2017…I love cherries and they shoot beautifully, I love using them to finish off a shot!
