Food Festival

I had the pleasure of shooting a wonderful food festival this month for a client of mine, lots of great and interesting food trucks and stalls. My favourites to shoot were the ‘Slow and Low’ classic French van, ‘The Cheese Wagon’ and the very colourful and kitsch ‘Waffle Bike’.

A wonderful day but I was too busy taking photos that I didn’t really stop to eat… next time!!

The Porch House

On Tuesday we went to Stow on the Wold in the Cotswolds and stayed in the oldest Inn in England, The Porch House. One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. Dating back to the 10th century, steeped in history and supposedly haunted.

It has been recently refurbished in a beautiful old eclectic English heritage style. I loved everything about this place, all the nooks you can tuck yourself away in  in the bar, restaurant and snug. Dark and cosy with comfy chairs surrounding large fireplaces and so many things for you to look at on the walls and shelves. The food was great too and I loved how they delivered coffee and toast to your room in the morning before you head downstairs for a full breakfast.

Amazing place, a wonderful find.

North Laine Brighton

It’s time for a much needed holiday away from work, so this week I’ll be having a little break from food photography and I’ll be sharing some of my other passions in life. My lovely boyfriend and I have taken the week off and have lots of lovely things planned to help us relax and enjoy our time together.

Our holiday actually began last Friday when we headed down to Brighton for a day out. First stop North Laine for breakfast at my favourite Wai Kika Moo Kau followed by a rummage around Snoopers Paradise. Bought two old movie posters (Attack of the 50ft Woman and Forbidden Planet) in Vintage Magazine Co. Shopped in North Laine and sheltered from the rain in coffee shops and restaurants, we also looked around the museum and art gallery. Love Brighton!

Ed’s Diner

Tuesday evening my lovely boyfriend treated me to dinner at the new Ed’s Diner that’s recently popped up in Milton Keynes, as I do love 50s style American diners.

Ed’s silver trailer looks great and I was really surprised at just how lovely the food was. There were two veggie options, classic bean burger or Mediterranean veg & mozzarella burger (which it the option I went for) which was really nice.  We shared a side of fries, onion rings and coleslaw. Everything tasted really good and homemade, I was really impressed. Sadly I had no room left after all that dinner for a chocolate malt shake which I have been craving for months now, but still it was the perfect way to  spend a Tuesday evening.
