Black food on black backgrounds are all over the food photography scene right now, this trend has been born from the increase in black food (squid ink pasta, black lentils and even black garlic) as well as charcoal food being uber trendy right now, charcoal ice cream being Instagram’s favourite snap right now. Combined with the food photography trend for moody lighting and dark backgrounds and surfaces like slate. When done right it’s very beautiful and simple.
