52 Weekends – Project No. 01

These days I mainly blog about my job as a photographer sharing the various projects I’m working Monday to Friday, then at the weekend I shut down work me and it time to relax. I LOVE the weekend! Our house is designed for the weekend… downstairs we have an open kitchen, dining, living space for us all to hang out and most of the time we have a full house. The large dining table doubles as an art/craft table and if I’m not in the kitchen cooking (which I love… but it doesn’t come naturally) I’m usually sat here working on something. I like it because with everyone else hanging out in the same room doing their own thing I don’t feel antisocial as I’m not shut away in another room.

The weekends for me are about being cosy at home, drinking lots of coffee, wearing hoodies, eating lots of food, snuggling on the sofa watching movies, pottering  about in the garden, doing puzzles, going for walks, visiting places, decorating the house and feeding the ducks… proper cosy stuff. Bliss!

As a creative person I’m constantly inspired by the things I see and I have a natural urge to make and create, at the weekends this is my time… I can make anything. 52 Weekends is an insight into my world on my days off and what I’ve been making, creating or doing. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Project No. 1

Crate on wheels – This is a nice fun project to start with… quick, simple. I used a crate from Ikea (I’ve previously used an old wine crate), wheels also from Ikea (but you can find them in hardware stores or Wilko), I use Frog Tape to mask off the area to paint (I love this stuff for masking, it’s the best, remove before the paint dries). I’ll let the pictures do the talking on the steps… I love the final result.
